Portland Cement! The next ingredient is vermiculite or perlite (sand can also be used too). This is a part of the aggregate that goes into hypertufa along with the Portland cement which results in a lighter weight than if you were making CONCRETE. (The concrete is made with Portland cement and gravel/sand mix).

Recipe #1 Basic Concrete without Aggregate. 2 1/2 quarts Portland cement, white or grey. 5 quarts sand, white or grey. 1 3/4 2 quarts water. Mix the dry ingredients well. Slowly add water until the concrete is workable. Don't add all of the water at once you may not need the full amount.
Add hypertufa mixture to molds and allow to cure for 12 days per tutorial you are following. Day 2 or 3: Remove from molds and add drainage holes and adjust surface as desired. Allow to cure for two weeks. Day 14: Rinse with vinegar to reduce alkalinity of cement. Day 21: Ready to use.
4 litres of sand. 12 litres of vermiculite. 3/4 cup of brown colorant. 3/4 of a bottle of acrylic admix (I think it was overkill on the admix) :).. but I just kept pouring and before I knew it most of the bottle was it set up for demolding and carving in about 24 hrs.
What about painting or staining the cover a color to blend in or standout and top with a planter. You could make a planter yourself from hypertufa or buy a fiberglas one and plant with a tree, shrub, perennials or annuals. The planter could easily be removed if you have to remove the cover.
